How long do water heaters last?
A tank water heater often lasts 8 to 12 years; tankless units usually last longer with maintenance. If yours is in that range and leaking, replacement usually makes more sense than repair.
Tank or tankless?
Tankless saves space and doesn’t run out of hot water, but costs more up front and may need a larger gas line. A tank is simpler and cheaper to replace like-for-like. We’ll price both at a free estimate.
